Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has threatened to take legal action against her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, and others over allegations that she uses hard drugs.
The actress made the statement in a video posted on her Instagram page on Wednesday, alongside laboratory test results from a California hospital. According to the report, Regina tested negative for all hard drugs, with the only substance detected being ecstasy (commonly known as molly).
Speaking in the video, Daniels said:
“Hi everyone, it’s Regina Daniels. I don’t believe I will sit in front of this camera again trying to clear up accusations meant to destroy me. It’s a new year, and with it came clarity. I realised there are certain narratives I can no longer allow to linger over my name as a public figure.”
She added that her decision to share the test results was not only to defend her reputation but also to reassure her supporters and her children:
“Taking this test is not about clearing my name, it’s about giving a strong and confident voice to those who believe in me. Above all, it is to give my children something priceless: pride, so that when they grow up, they will know their mother was never a drug addict.”
Regina clarified that she has never used any hard drugs or engaged in the activities alleged online. She warned that she intends to pursue legal action:
“I will sue, and I will definitely sue at the appropriate time. Honestly, the only drug I was associated with was ecstasy, and there’s a reason for that.”
The clarification comes nearly three months after Senator Nwoko publicly accused her of drug use.
