The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang met and congratulated Rt. Hon. Moses Sule and Rt. Hon. Dalyop Gwottson Fom on their successful election as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, respectively.
The Governor warmly received the newly elected Speaker and Members of the House at his office in the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos on Tuesday. He commended their appointments as divine and essential for fostering peace and development in Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang praised the trust placed in Hon. Sule and Hon. Fom by their fellow members of the House, acknowledging their integrity and competence.
During the meeting, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the importance of a strong partnership between the executive and legislative arms of government. He expressed his commitment to building a united and prosperous Plateau that transcends religious and ethnic divisions, emphasizing the need to leverage diversity as a source of inspiration and strength.
“We are determined to build a new Plateau, a united Plateau where religion and ethnicity will no longer be used as tools for division. Instead, they should serve as sources of inspiration and strength,” Governor Mutfwang affirmed.
The Governor assured the legislators that his administration would prioritize peaceful coexistence and diligently work towards securing the boundaries of Plateau State. He highlighted the significance of Plateau as a desirable destination in Nigeria and called for collective efforts to advance the interests of the people.
Governor Mutfwang urged the newly elected Speaker and Deputy Speaker to employ their legislative expertise to enhance good governance in the state, leveraging their positions to benefit the citizens.
In response, Rt. Hon. Moses Sule, the newly elected Speaker, expressed gratitude for the peaceful inauguration of the 10th Assembly. He assured the Governor of the House’s commitment to supporting his agenda and fulfilling their responsibilities to the people of Plateau.
The announcement of the new Speaker and Deputy Speaker marks an important milestone for the Plateau State House of Assembly. With 24 members, the House comprises the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 16 seats, the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 7 seats, and the Young Progressives Party (YPP) with 1 seat.
The successful election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker signifies a positive step forward for Plateau State’s governance and legislative processes. The new leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping policies and driving development initiatives for the benefit of the people.
