A member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Laven Denty Jacob, representing Pankshin South Constituency, has been kidnapped.
Jacob was reportedly abducted from his residence in the Dong area of Jos North Local Government Area on Monday night, September 22, 2025.
Sources disclosed that the lawmaker was taken shortly after returning home from an outing with friends. Gunmen allegedly trailed him to his residence and whisked him away as soon as the gateman opened the gate.
As of the time of filing this report, the kidnappers have not established contact with the family or made any ransom demand.
A relative suggested that the assailants might have monitored Jacob’s movements before striking.
The incident adds to recent security concerns in Dong, where just last week gunmen abducted a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member and a University of Jos student from the family home of Solomon Dansura.
