Former Nigerian presidential candidate, Peter Obi, attended the London book launch of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s latest novel, Dream Count.
Obi, who arrived in the UK on Sunday, March 2, shared photos from the event, highlighting its significance as a celebration of literary excellence and national potential.
“I made the trip via Air Peace business class, as is my policy when embarking on long-haul flights, particularly when I have to start work immediately upon arrival,” he wrote on X.
Before the book launch, Obi visited Cambridge for meetings with development experts, discussing solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.
Returning to London later in the day, he joined an audience of about 3,000 at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, where Adichie engaged in a conversation with journalist and author Elizabeth Day.
Obi described the event as insightful and emphasized the need for investments in education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation to unlock Nigeria’s full potential.
Expressing optimism, he stated, “I remain confident that all hope is not lost. A new Nigeria is POssible!”
