The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday announced the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside several of his key allies, amid escalating internal tensions within the party.
The announcement was made at the PDP’s ongoing national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, where party leaders said the decision followed findings of alleged anti-party activities and conduct considered detrimental to the unity and progress of the party.
Those affected by the expulsion include:
- H.E. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON
- H.E. Ayo Fayose
- Senator Samuel Anyanwu
- Hon. Umar Bature
- Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN
- Mohammed Abdulrahman
- Senator Mao Ohuabunwa
- Hon. Austine Nwachukwu
- Abraham Amah
- George Turner
- Chief Dan Orbih
The development adds a new layer to the already deepening crisis rocking the PDP, coming on the heels of recent court rulings and internal suspensions that have shaken the party’s leadership structure.
