A clash between rival Sara-Suka groups around the Yantifa community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State has left one person dead and three others injured.

The incident, which took place on Tuesday evening, April 1, 2025, caused widespread panic as the groups, armed with machetes, attacked each other. Witnesses reported seeing residents fleeing the area to escape the violence.

Lawan Chizo, a vigilante in Jos, who confirmed the latest incident told Daily Trust that security agencies including soldiers were deployed to restore law and order in the area.

Chizo said though there is still fear in the minds of residents, normalcy had been restored in the area as of press time.

The state commissioner of police has called for an emergency meeting with leaders of the affected communities to nip in the bud the activities of Sara Suka in the area.

The incident comes two days after three members of Sara Suka groups were killed in a clash around the Al-Mohap praying ground.
