Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State – Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has confirmed that all 24 students recently rescued from abductors are in stable and good condition.

Speaking at a press briefing at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi shortly after their release, Governor Idris expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and all security agencies involved in the operation.

“From the information we have right now, the children are on their way back and they are all fine,” he said.

The governor also clarified that no ransom was paid to secure the students’ freedom.

“We checked to confirm if any ransom was paid, and from everything we gathered, no money was given. As a government, we didn’t pay a single naira, and the security officers who went to receive them also said they didn’t take any money,” Governor Idris explained.

He added that the students will be handed over to their parents tomorrow.

The students were kidnapped last week from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Senior Secondary School in Maga, sparking national concern and prompting a coordinated rescue operation by the military, police, and other security agencies.
