Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division have successfully rescued 11 abducted individuals in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the Army announced on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
According to the statement, the victims were initially kidnapped from Gada Mallam Maman community on October 26, 2025, and were rescued following a coordinated operation along the Kaduna–Abuja road axis.
“In a sophisticated display of modern warfare and tactical precision, the Nigerian Army has recorded another major operational success with the rescue of eleven kidnapped Nigerians during a late-night operation on January 26,” the statement read.
Troops from Forward Operating Base (FOB) Doka, using high-definition, long-range CCTV surveillance, detected armed terrorists attempting to move the captives through the Gidan Duna–Amale bush track. A swift pursuit with tactical vehicles and motorcycles forced the criminals to abandon their captives and flee.
The rescued victims include five adult males, three adult females, and three children, ending a 92-day ordeal.
The Army highlighted that the operation demonstrated the effective integration of modern surveillance technology with agile ground operations, reinforcing its commitment to protecting lives, securing key routes, and denying criminals freedom of action.
