Intelligence agencies in Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso say they are preparing to release the names of senior Nigerian politicians allegedly supporting bandit groups operating in the North-West.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed that the agencies have already identified some politicians suspected of aiding the criminal gangs. Officials also confirmed that several individuals involved in arms supply to the bandits have been arrested, with investigations ongoing.
According to the agencies, the move is part of broader regional efforts to dismantle cross-border criminal networks fueling insecurity across West Africa.
The development comes amid closer collaboration among Sahelian states in tackling armed groups and curbing illicit arms trafficking across borders.
