Renowned Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has explained why he conducted multiple DNA tests on his alleged teenage daughter, Anu Adeleke.
The explanation followed widespread reactions after the singer disclosed that he had carried out five DNA tests on the teenager, all of which reportedly confirmed that she is not his biological child.
Earlier, Anu had taken to social media with an open letter requesting a DNA test to establish her paternity, claiming she had suffered bullying at school due to the absence of a father figure in her life.
Responding to her claims, Davido stated that he had never met Anu’s mother and maintained that the DNA test results from five different medical facilities were negative. He also threatened legal action against Anu and her mother, describing the allegations as false.
However, his response sparked further debate online, with many questioning why he would agree to five DNA tests if he had no prior relationship with the girl’s mother.
Addressing the criticism in a post on X, Davido clarified that he did not initiate the DNA tests on his own, but was compelled to do so by his father.
“You guys don’t know my father… he’s even the one that forced me to go. Adelekes, we don’t play about blood on this side,” the singer wrote.
The clarification has added another layer to the ongoing controversy, which continues to generate mixed reactions across social media platforms.
