NECO Releases 2025 BECE Results, Schedules Re-sit for July 23–24

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

This was disclosed on Wednesday in a statement issued by Azeez Sani, Acting Director of Information and Public Relations at NECO. According to the statement, a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects.

While the statement did not provide details on candidates’ performance, it confirmed that the examination was held between May 12 and May 23, 2025, and concluded successfully.

Sani noted that the results were released following the conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting, which took place at NECO’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of the Award Committee, Dr. Folake Olatunji-David, who is also the Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, commended NECO for the transparent and efficient conduct of the examination and results processing.

The Award Committee meeting was attended by NECO management officials and selected secondary school principals from across the country.

In addition, NECO announced the dates for the 2025 BECE Re-sit examination.
According to the statement:

“The Re-sit examination is scheduled to hold on 23rd and 24th July, 2025, for Mathematics and English Studies.”

NECO urged schools and candidates concerned to take note of the timetable and prepare accordingly.
