Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has declared that she will not apologize to Senate President Godswill Akpabio following her suspension and subsequent reinstatement.

Speaking on Tuesday after regaining access to her office at the National Assembly, the lawmaker said she would withhold extensive comments for now as some issues remained pending.

“I am going to be quite limited with what I’ll say. In the weeks to come, I will have much to say,” she told journalists.

Akpoti-Uduaghan dismissed reports that a motion might be raised to compel her to apologize as part of conditions for resumption, stressing that her suspension was unjust.

“I am actually worried as to what apology they expect from me. You can’t apologize for an injustice,” she said.

The senator insisted she would not bow to pressure.

“In everything, it just shows that sometimes it’s good to put the institutions to test. We can’t be cowed in the face of injustice. No one is more Nigerian than us,” she declared.

She went on to thank her constituents, family, and colleagues for their support during her six-month suspension, while urging Nigerians not to lose faith in the country.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel,” she assured.
