MRS Oil Nigeria Plc has increased its petrol pump price across the country following a recent hike in the gantry price by Dangote Refinery to N1,175 per litre.
At MRS filling stations in Abuja, petrol is now sold at N1,267 per litre, up from the previous price of N1,167. The adjustment represents an increase of N100 per litre, matching the increment announced by the refinery.
A manager at one of the stations, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the price change, attributing it to the revised gantry price introduced by Dangote Refinery.
Similarly, Optima Energy filling stations have also raised their petrol price by N50, moving from N1,220 to N1,270 per litre after the refinery’s price adjustment.
Meanwhile, retail outlets operated by Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited are currently selling petrol at about N1,261 per litre, which is slightly lower than the prices offered by MRS and Optima stations.
Other marketers, including AA Rano Nigeria Limited, NIPCO Plc, Eterna Plc, Mobil Nigeria, Empire Energy, and Raniol Petroleum are dispensing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) between N1,270 and N1,330 per litre within Abuja and surrounding areas.
The latest adjustment comes amid ongoing volatility in global crude oil prices following escalating tensions linked to the Iran–United States–Israel tensions, which intensified on February 28, 2026.
Market checks on Tuesday showed that Brent Crude was trading at about $97.39 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate stood at $103.7 per barrel.
