Tension rocked the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand as several contestants staged a walkout during a pre-event ceremony to protest the alleged humiliation of Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, by a Thai pageant official.

The incident reportedly occurred after Nawat Itsaragrisil, a Thai official involved in hosting the event, publicly insulted Bosch, calling her “dumb” for failing to post promotional content on her social media page.

Witnesses said when Bosch objected to the remark, Nawat called security and threatened to disqualify her and any contestant who supported her. In response, Bosch walked out of the venue, followed by other contestants who joined in solidarity.

In a viral video recorded outside the event hall, Miss Mexico expressed her disappointment over the incident, describing Nawat’s behavior as “disrespectful” and “undermining” to women.

She said:

“As a country, you have all my respect. I truly love Thailand. I respect all of you. You are amazing people. But what your director did is not respectful. He called me dumb and told me to shut up and other things. I think the world needs to see this because we are empowered women. This is a platform for our voice.”

The incident has sparked outrage online, with fans and rights advocates demanding an apology from the Miss Universe Thailand organizers and calling for fair treatment of contestants ahead of the global competition.
