A new political biography titled “Kwallu: Duels with Political Lizard” has been unveiled in Jos, celebrating the dynamic political evolution of Hon. Isaac Kwallu. The book, authored by journalist and writer Cyprian Dayop Jan, was launched at a vibrant ceremony attended by political leaders, scholars, community stakeholders and supporters from across Plateau State.
Chaired by Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, the event was described as a milestone in Plateau’s political literature. Bagos praised Hon. Kwallu as “an honest man whom Plateau youths can trust,” noting that the biography provides both inspiration and instruction for young politicians navigating the complexities of Nigerian politics.
According to Bagos, the book offers a balanced representation of political life—highlighting victories, setbacks, and the resilience required to thrive. He urged emerging leaders to draw lessons from Kwallu’s experiences and to always prioritize Plateau above personal ambitions.
“Whatever our ambitions are, Plateau must come first,” he reminded the audience.
Book Review Praises Structure and Significance
The biography was expertly reviewed by Dr. Luka Panpe of Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi. He spoke extensively on the book’s thematic depth, narrative approach, and the relevance of its political commentary to both state and national politics.
Strong support for the project also came from Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, represented by Hon. Daa Ernest Abner, who announced a donation of ₦7 million in solidarity with the author and the subject of the work.
Kwallu: “My story is still unfolding”
In his remarks, Hon. Isaac Kwallu expressed profound gratitude for the honour, saying the turnout and warm reception reaffirmed his commitment to public service.
“A lot of things I’ve done and many more I’m doing show that much is expected of me. My biography is yet to be fully written, but I believe history will record that I came, I saw, and I conquered,” he said.
Author: “Kwallu’s story mirrors Nigeria’s journey”
Author Cyprian Dayop Jan said the book was motivated by a desire to contribute meaningfully to society through writing. He described the story of Kwallu as a metaphor for Nigeria—marked by struggles, hope and resilience.
Jan explained that his relationship with Kwallu began during his NYSC in Abuja in 2020, shaping his admiration for Kwallu’s leadership ethos.
“Writing for me is about improving society. Isaac Kwallu’s story is one of endurance and possibility,” he noted, describing himself as “an unrepentant loyalist and disciple of Kwallu’s philosophy.”
Documenting Political History for Future Leaders
Bagos, in his closing remarks, emphasized the importance of documenting political experiences, adding that the book provides valuable insight into leadership beyond public perception.
The launch of “Kwallu: Duels with Political Lizard” ultimately became more than a literary event—it was a celebration of leadership, loyalty and the resilience of Plateau’s political culture. With its rich narrative and reflective storytelling, the biography stands as a guiding light for young politicians seeking clarity, wisdom and inspiration.
As Plateau State continues to navigate political transitions, the central message echoed throughout the event remained clear: leadership must be anchored in integrity, unity and genuine service to the people.
