Kingdom Kids Klub (K3), a children’s home and advocacy organisation supporting orphaned and vulnerable children, has celebrated its 15th anniversary with the unveiling of a new logo during a commemorative event in Jos.

The event highlighted the organisation’s growth from a modest initiative that initially supported 18 children into a recognised platform for trauma-informed care, education support, family reunification and advocacy for family-based alternatives to institutional care across Nigeria and parts of Africa.

Founded in February 2006 by Sandra Dirmwa Chikan, Kingdom Kids Klub was inspired by her personal experience of losing both parents at a young age. Since its establishment, the organisation has provided immediate, short-term and medium-term support to children affected by violent conflicts, domestic violence, terrorism and other crises.

Headquartered in Plateau State, the organisation focuses on providing care that prioritises emotional stability, education and spiritual nurturing while promoting long-term family-based care solutions.

Under the leadership of Pastor Chikan, who serves as Founder and Global Director, the organisation has expanded its programmes to include the “Stand Out Aging Out Africa Mentoring Network,” teen camps, transition support for older youth, higher education assistance and partnerships with organisations such as the Association of Orphanages and Homes in Nigeria.

Recent initiatives by the organisation also focus on sustainable family-centred approaches, including permanent site development, community partnerships aimed at preventing unnecessary institutionalisation, and economic empowerment for caregivers to strengthen family stability.

Speaking during the anniversary celebration, Pastor Chikan expressed gratitude for the organisation’s journey and the support it has received over the years.

“This 15-year milestone is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the collective efforts of many who believe in restoring hope,” she said. “We have seen transformed lives, restored families and brighter futures, yet the work continues as we advocate for every child to belong in a forever family.”

Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Grace Dongkum, also commended the founder’s dedication and reflected on the organisation’s humble beginnings.

She recalled early initiatives such as children’s hangouts in 2007 and fundraising dinners in 2009 that supported the first group of 18 children, noting that the organisation’s guiding principle has always been to ensure each child experiences genuine care and support.

Dongkum described the anniversary as the beginning of a new phase for the organisation and called on supporters and stakeholders to deepen their involvement in expanding its impact.

“I encourage everyone to engage, contribute and invest in this space so that together we can grow it far beyond where it is now,” she said.
