Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has dismissed rumours claiming she secretly tied the knot with her lover, following recent speculation about her absence from the spotlight.
Speaking in a recent interview with Yanga FM, Lagos, the 38-year-old artiste clarified that she is not married and has no reason to hide her marital status from the public.
“I don’t care whatever anyone does or says [regarding my personal life]. After all, I’m not a 12-year-old. I’m old enough to say whatever it is I want to say with my full chest. I’m not married,” she stated.
Niniola also debunked claims that she was keeping her marriage secret to protect her career or music bookings, stressing that such rumours were unfounded.
When asked why she has yet to collaborate musically with her younger sister, singer Teni, Niniola said it would happen at the right time and under the right circumstances.
“Music is business,” she explained. “There’s no family in business. When the time is right, it will happen.”
