Popular Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely known as Baba Ijesha, has claimed that human beings are more wicked than snakes as he spoke publicly for the first time after his release from prison.
The actor made the statement in a viral music video shared months after regaining his freedom following a prison sentence linked to a sexual assault case involving comedian Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess.
Princess had accused Baba Ijesha in 2021 of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter at her residence in Lagos.
Baba Ijesha completed his five-year jail term and was released in November 2025 after serving time at the Kirikiri Prison in Lagos State.
In the video, the actor accused Princess of framing him and claimed the incident that led to his imprisonment was a setup orchestrated by someone he considered a close friend.
According to him, he was invited to her house under the pretext of food and a movie role but later realised there was no film project.
“My trust was betrayed. I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman,” he said.
He alleged that he had been invited to Princess’ house after she told him she was preparing his favourite meal, pounded yam with egusi soup and bush meat.
Baba Ijesha said he believed he had been invited to rehearse for a movie role but later discovered it was allegedly a trap.
While maintaining his innocence, the actor warned fans and the public to be cautious about trusting friends.
“Please my fans be careful with friends. They cannot be trusted. Flee from them because the world is evil, and human beings are more wicked than venomous snakes,” he added.
