Rising Nigerian artist Cabrini Divos shared a surprising encounter over the weekend after restroom attendants at a popular Lagos hotel mistakenly assumed he was a woman.
In a post on X, Cabrini recounted that hotel staff called security to eject him while he attempted to use the male restroom. The singer explained that he had only stepped in to quickly change for a performance following his soundcheck.
“EKO HOTEL restroom attendants called security on me. Said I’m pretending to be male? How!” he wrote. “Went in to do a quick change for my performance after soundcheck because I hadn’t much time to go to the apartment. So on way in they directed me to the female side. I said nope, only to come out to wash my hands. And these idiots called security talking about, ‘I’m pretending to be a man.’ It was funny at first before I lashed out on them.”
He added that when asked to explain himself, the attendants claimed he hadn’t provided clarification, leaving him incredulous: “Explain what, please?”
Cabrini also shared a video of himself inside the restroom, documenting the incident. The clip has since circulated online, sparking reactions from fans and social media users.
