Prominent human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana has strongly criticised Donald Trump, President of the United States, over the ongoing conflict involving the U.S., Israel and Iran, accusing him of disregarding international law and urging greater global diplomatic pressure to help resolve the crisis.
Falana made the remarks on Thursday during an appearance on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television. He faulted Trump’s handling of the Iran situation, saying the U.S. leader has shown contempt for international law and United Nations resolutions.
In his comments, the senior lawyer condemned what he described as reckless use of military force and accused Trump of acting like “the leading terrorist in the world today” through violent intervention and threats against Iran. Falana questioned the legality and morality of actions allegedly taken by the U.S. against the Iranian state and its leadership.
Falana also called on Nigeria and the international community to ramp up diplomatic efforts and apply pressure on the United States to respect international norms and legal frameworks in addressing global conflicts.
