House of Assembly gutted by fire in Kogi state

The Kogi State House of Assembly in Lokoja has been gutted by fire on Monday, 10th October 2022 at about 8 am, and the assembly gallery and most of the Chambers were reportedly burnt down completely.

Although the cause of the fire incident is yet to be known at the time of filing this report, the state fire service has since put out the fire.

The Speaker of the House, Prince Mathew Kolawole, while speaking to journalists at the assembly complex said the house will allow security agencies to investigate the incident.

He, however, said this would not stop the assembly from performing its duty as the resolution of the house concerning Dangote Cement Plc stands.
