Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has relieved five commissioners of their duties, paving the way for new appointments in his administration.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Architect Samuel Jatau, announced the development in a statement, though no official reason was given for their removal.
However, sources suggest it may be linked to performance assessments over the past year.
The affected commissioners and their respective ministries are Chrysanthus Dawam, commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning; Noel Nkup, commissioner of Youth and Sports, and Jamila Tukur, commissioner of Tourism and Hospitality. Others included Obed Goselle – Science and Technology and Sule Musa, commissioner of Commerce and Industry.
Notably, both Dawam and Tukur had previously faced a three-month suspension last year for undisclosed reasons.
The governor also approved Sunday Alex from Bassa Local Government Area, Joyce Ramnap from Langtang South, Sylvanus Dongtoe from Shendam, Nicholas Baamlong from Qua’an Pam, and Cornelius Doeyok also from Qua’an Local Government Area to serve as Commissioners.
The former Commissioners were appreciated and wished the best in future endeavours.
