Gov Mutfwang Declares May 29 Work-Free Day to Mark Second Anniversary of “The Time Is Now” Administration

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has declared Thursday, May 29, 2025, as a work-free day across the state in celebration of the second anniversary of his administration, themed “The Time Is Now.”

According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Samuel N. Jatau, the public holiday is intended to give citizens an opportunity to reflect on the achievements recorded over the past two years and to participate in commemorative activities marking the anniversary.

The Governor emphasized that the day will also serve as a moment for citizens to celebrate the enduring values of democracy, peace, and good governance that his administration continues to promote.

All Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and public institutions are expected to observe the directive, with the exception of those providing essential services.

Governor Mutfwang extended his appreciation to the people of Plateau State for their steadfast support and commitment to the administration’s vision for progress and prosperity.

He also urged citizens to use the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to unity, peaceful coexistence, and active citizenship as the state forges ahead on the path of sustainable development.

The declaration comes as part of the activities lined up to commemorate two years of the “The Time Is Now” administration, which has prioritized inclusive governance, infrastructure development, and peacebuilding across Plateau State.
