Legendary gospel singer and worship leader, Ron Kenoly, has passed away at the age of 81.
Kenoly’s death was confirmed by several gospel artistes through posts on their social media pages, sparking tributes from across the global Christian music community.
Renowned Nigerian gospel minister, Nathaniel Bassey, paid tribute to the late singer in an Instagram post, describing him as a major influence on his generation and many others.
“Dr Ron Kenoly crosses to yonder side,” Bassey wrote.
“Thank you for inspiring generations of psalmists like me.
I grew up on these songs. And today, others are growing up on ours.
Thank you sir.”
Ron Kenoly was widely celebrated for his powerful worship anthems that shaped contemporary gospel music worldwide. His popular songs include Majesty, Righteousness, Peace and Joy, Anointing, All Honour, Sing Out, among many others.
His music remains a lasting legacy, continuing to inspire worship leaders and gospel music lovers across generations.
