The Tinubu-led administration has commenced the recruitment process for the National Health Fellows Program, aimed at driving positive change in Nigeria’s health sector.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, announced the program on Monday, stating that successful applicants will receive remuneration and tools to support their roles.

The program seeks to engage individuals aged 25 to 35 across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria. Applications for the program will close on January 27, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria for the Program

  • Age: Applicants must be between 25 and 35 years old.
  • Educational Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in health-related fields, IT, or social sciences.
  • Interest/Experience: Demonstrable interest or experience in public health, health-related NGOs, partner organizations, or community projects showcasing leadership and initiative.
  • Availability: Candidates must be available to participate full-time in the fellowship.
  • State Indigene: Applicants must apply as indigenes of the state they intend to work in.
  • Smartphone Access: Candidates must own smartphones with data capabilities for tools like WhatsApp and Zoom.
  • Recommendation: A recommendation letter from a University Dean, NYSC place of primary assignment, or a respected organization vouching for the applicant’s character and leadership.
  • Skills: Demonstrated analytical abilities and entrepreneurial drive.
