The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has confirmed a fire outbreak at the old terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, assuring the public that no lives were lost.
FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, said emergency responders were promptly deployed to the scene and were actively working to contain the situation.
According to him, the agency’s firefighting unit moved swiftly to prevent the spread of the fire and minimise potential damage to the facility.
“We are aware of the outbreak and our team is already on ground managing it. Our firefighting unit is responding and working to curtail the situation. No loss of life has been recorded. Further updates will be provided,” he stated.
Passengers and airport users have been advised to remain calm while officials continue efforts to fully extinguish the fire and assess the extent of damage.
