Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), barely 24 hours after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Suswam officially joined the ruling party on Wednesday, marking his first activity as an APC member by registering at his Mbagber Council Ward in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

His defection comes a day after he announced his resignation from the PDP, citing the prolonged internal crisis within the opposition party as his reason for leaving.

Earlier reports had indicated that the former governor was dissatisfied with what he described as the PDP’s inability to resolve its long-standing leadership and structural challenges.

Suswam’s move to the APC further reshapes the political landscape in Benue State, as he becomes one of the latest high-profile politicians to cross over from the PDP amid ongoing realignments ahead of future elections.
