The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the dismissal of 115 personnel as part of its ongoing internal reforms aimed at sanitising the agency and strengthening professional standards.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the Service cautioned members of the public against engaging with the dismissed individuals, some of whom are reportedly still posing as DSS officials.
“As part of the ongoing reforms in the Department of State Services (DSS), the public is hereby informed that a total of 115 personnel have been dismissed over a period,” the statement read.
The DSS noted that despite previous warnings about Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, who had been earlier identified as fraudulent ex-personnel, other dismissed officers have continued to impersonate the agency.
“Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any official dealing with these individuals who have been dismissed by the Service,” the statement added.
According to the agency, the identities of all the dismissed personnel have been published on its official website for public awareness.
The Service further urged Nigerians to report any suspicious activities involving individuals claiming to represent the DSS via its contact channels — phone: 09088373515 or email: dsspr@dss.gov.ng.
