The embattled Speaker of the Plateau state house of Assembly. Rt Hon. Abok Nuhu Ayubahas resumed duty as speaker of the house taking over the office premises of the speaker after the court reinstated him.
Hon. Abok reportedly drove into the Assembly complex a few minutes before 9am on Tuesday and then headed straight to the Speaker’s office in the company of some lawmakers
The premises of the Plateau State House of Assembly was heavily barricaded by security personnel as some Lawmakers were seen with the speaker in his office with indications that the house may likely sit in Plenary today.
Recall that Justice Nafisat Lawal Musa of the State High Court Sitting in Jos, on Monday reinstated Abok Ayuba as Speaker, of the Plateau House of Assembly 18 months after he was impeached by some members of the House. (READ HERE)
The Court upheld the submissions of the complainants that the impeachment was illegal and therefore null and void and further awarded the sum of N1.5 million as the cost of appearance and the sum of N138,000 as the cost of filing the matter against the defenders.
