The Delta State Police Command has arrested and detained one of its officers for shooting at the tyre of a moving vehicle near Toscana Hotel along Okpanam Road in Asaba, the state capital.
A viral video circulated on Tuesday, October 22, showed the officer firing at the tyre of a vehicle in motion, sparking outrage among social media users.
While the reason for the officer’s action remains unclear, the spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest in a post on his X handle.
He described the officer’s conduct as “unprofessional,” adding that appropriate disciplinary measures will follow after investigations.
