A group known as the Concerned Plateau APC Consolidation Vanguard (PACV) has issued a stern warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding a faction of self-proclaimed APC elders based in Abuja. The group accused these individuals of continuously working against the interests of the party in Plateau State while shamelessly seeking appointments from the President.
In response to a recent photograph showing these politicians congratulating the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, on behalf of the “Plateau APC elders,” the PACV expressed its disgust at their behavior. The PACV referred to them as traitors and destroyers of the APC in Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole, vehemently denying their claims of being party elders and labeling it as pure impersonation.
Comrade Jok Samuel Carmillus, the spokesperson for PACV, stated that the group was not surprised by the actions of these desperate politicians. He accused them of systematically undermining the party within Plateau State while attempting to exploit their alleged “Abuja connections” and sentimental strategies for personal gain.
The PACV spokesperson further lamented the unfortunate photo circulating, which comprised individuals who had actively worked to ensure the APC’s defeat in all elections, including the State, National Assembly, Governorship, and Presidential races. The notorious group, which included former Minister of Women Affairs Dame Pauline Tallen, Chief Joshua Dariye, Hon. Comsol Alphonsus, Sen. Hezekiah Dimka, Dasuki Nakande, Sen. Nora Dadu’ut, Danyaro Sarpiya, and Amos Gizo, not only campaigned against the APC but openly supported the Labour Party and even donated money to the opposition PDP and its candidates.
Moreover, these politicians were involved in fueling the “Muslim-Muslim ticket” narrative, urging voters to reject the APC and all its candidates at both the state and federal levels. They publicly worked against Governor Lalong, who had accepted the position of Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council. Consequently, they criticized him and ensured his defeat in his bid for the Senate.
Despite their previous opposition to the APC, these politicians are now shamelessly scrambling for appointments. The PACV questioned their audacity to expect rewards from a party they actively undermined. They called into question their sense of conscience and wondered how they could reap where they did not sow.
The PACV recalled vividly how Pauline Tallen had visited Shendam during the presidential elections, distributing money to her supporters and instructing them to vote for Peter Obi of the Labour Party as well as Patrick Dakum as Governor. Tallen had distanced herself from all APC activities, including the party primaries and the 2023 general elections, while resorting to blackmailing Governor Lalong in Abuja.
Former Governor Joshua Dariye had openly campaigned for the Labour Party, while hypocritically pretending to support Tinubu. His true colors were revealed when the results showed that the Labour Party had won the Presidential ballot in Plateau State.
Others, such as Dasuki Nakande, Danyaro Sarpiya, and Hezekiah Dimka, who contributed nothing to the APC but collaborated with the opposition to weaken the party, are now desperately seeking recognition from President Tinubu. Dasuki, in particular, was among the first to visit Governor Caleb Mutfwang to offer congratulations, despite previously engaging in a campaign of calumny against Governor Lalong and the APC.
Senator Nora Dadu’ut, who openly worked against the Tinubu/Shettima ticket, believes her relationship with First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will secure her a ministerial appointment. However, it is a fact that she has never advocated for the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, or any APC candidate in Plateau State.
The PACV emphasized that the aforementioned individuals are not recognized as APC elders in Plateau State. Instead, they are branded as impostors and pretenders, desperate to gain President Tinubu’s attention at any cost.
Comrade Jok affirmed the group’s confidence that President Tinubu would not be swayed by the deceptive tactics of these power-hungry opportunists. He reassured those who love the party that their futile mission would not destroy the APC but rather motivate true supporters to continue working for its success.
The PACV reaffirmed its unwavering support for the leader of the APC in Plateau State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, KSGG, CON. Given his ability to secure the presidency against all odds, despite the activities of saboteurs like Pauline Tallen and her cohorts, Lalong remains the preferred reference for any appointments from the State by President Tinubu.
The Concerned Plateau APC Consolidation Vanguard, represented by Comrade Jok Samuel Camillus, Comrade Kate Gambo Miaphen, and Haruja Maidabino Hamza, issued this statement.
