Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has dismissed claims by British broadcaster Piers Morgan that he was panicking over a recent interview on the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.

Tuggar had previously posted on X expressing concern that his comments were being selectively edited to fit external biases, warning that such misrepresentation could fuel “misleading narratives and allegations of religious persecution in Nigeria.” He requested that Morgan release the full, unedited broadcast of the interview.

In response, Morgan assured Tuggar that the program, titled Uncensored, would air his comments in full, but added that the minister appeared to be panicking. He also noted that whether viewers believe Tuggar’s statements is for the audience to decide.

Tuggar responded calmly on X, writing: “I am as cool as a cucumber, Mr. Morgan. And if I weren’t more equable, I would say you are flattering yourself, but I won’t. Just want to make sure you don’t edit out the parts where you kept referring to the ‘Chibok Boys’! Well researched.”

As of the time of filing this report, the full interview had not yet been released on the program’s official platforms.
