Professor Xueqin Jiang, a Chinese-Canadian history and philosophy lecturer dubbed “China’s Nostradamus,” has made a striking prediction regarding the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran.

Jiang, a Yale College alumnus and host of the popular YouTube channel Predictive History (1.87 million subscribers), became an internet sensation for three forecasts he made in May 2024, two of which have already materialized with remarkable accuracy.

His first prediction, that Donald Trump would win the 2024 U.S. presidential election and return to office, came true. His second forecast warned that a second Trump term would likely lead to war with Iran—a scenario that is now unfolding through the joint US-Israel Operation Epic Fury.

Jiang’s third and most controversial prediction concerns the outcome of the U.S.-Iran confrontation. He forecasts an American defeat, arguing that Iran’s demographics, rugged topography, and internal opposition would make extended U.S. occupation impossible, turning initial battlefield gains into strategic failures.

“If this war [US-Iran] were to happen, there’s absolutely no way America can win this war,” Jiang said in one of his videos.

Drawing historical parallels, he compared a potential U.S. invasion of Iran to the Sicilian Expedition of 415–413 BC, in which Athens suffered a disastrous defeat while attempting to seize control of Sicily.

Jiang, who has been teaching at Moonshot Academy Beijing since 2022, bases his forecasts on historical patterns, geopolitical incentives, and Game Theory, earning a growing following for his precise predictions and analysis of global events.
