American rapper Cardi B has etched her name into music history by becoming the first female rapper to debut her first two studio albums at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Her latest project, Am I The Drama?, stormed to the top spot after racking up 200,000 equivalent album units in its opening week, Billboard announced in an official Instagram post. The feat marks the biggest week of 2025 for an R&B/hip-hop album by a woman.
This success mirrors that of her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy, which also opened at No. 1, cementing her as one of the most dominant forces in contemporary hip-hop.
The album’s strong debut was fueled by massive streaming numbers alongside robust physical sales, boosted by multiple CD and vinyl editions. With these figures, Am I The Drama? now holds the record for the biggest first-week sales of 2025 for a female hip-hop or R&B artist.
Cardi B further grabbed headlines with a Guinness World Record–breaking promotional stunt, delivering 176 signed copies of her album via drone within one hour across the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
