Mojisola Meranda has been re-elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, just hours after resigning as Speaker on Monday afternoon.
Meranda accepted the role, pledging to serve the state in good faith.
“This is a notice of resignation as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly,” Meranda earlier read her resignation letter out at the plenary Monday afternoon.
Her return to the deputy speaker position marks a swift transition following leadership changes within the Assembly.
