Breaking: Group Set to Hold Major Peace Walk Against Hunger and Insecurity in Plateau on August 1st

In a significant move, the Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN) has announced a Peace Walk scheduled for Thursday, August 1, 2024 in Jos, Plateau State. The event, which aims to press the government to address the escalating issues of hunger and insecurity in Nigeria, is expected to draw massive participation from various groups across the state.

The Peace Walk is set to commence at 7 a.m. from the Secretariat Junction, under the flyover in Jos. Participants have been urged to wear black as a symbol of unity and solidarity in their call for change.

In an official statement released today, the IBBN clarified that the Peace Walk is entirely non-religious and non-political, emphasizing its focus on advocating for a better Nigeria. The organization has invited pressure groups, youth movements, women’s associations, traders, labor unions, road and transport unions, religious organizations, and other stakeholders to join the march.

The IBBN has assured that all participating groups have been sensitized to maintain peace and civility during the walk. Security agencies in Plateau State have also been notified to ensure the safety of all involved.
