A 25-year-old woman identified as Kaltum Dalha, said to be affiliated with the insurgent group Boko Haram, has reportedly surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Konduga area of Borno State.
Security sources disclosed that the woman surrendered at the Forward Operating Base in Konduga at about 11:00 a.m. on February 26, 2026, arriving from Sabsawa village with her two-year-old child, Awana Dalha.
Preliminary findings indicate that her husband, who was reportedly a commander within the Mairam Buri enclave, had earlier been killed during a recent clash with troops. Sources said this development influenced her decision to surrender.
During initial interrogation, she was also said to have indicated that the group’s structure weakened following the loss of its commander, contributing to the decision of some members and families to abandon the enclave.
Military authorities note that sustained offensives by Operation Hadin Kai in recent months have led to the elimination of several insurgent leaders, arrests of suspects, recovery of weapons, and the continued surrender of fighters and their relatives.
