…KWAM 1 Ambassadorship Will Encourage Airport Misconducts — Ex-Lawmaker
Dachung Bagos, a member of the House of Representatives representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, has criticized the Federal Government’s decision to appoint Fuji musician Wasiu Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, as an ambassador for airport security protocols.
Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday, Bagos warned that the move could set a negative precedent.
“With all the drama, now he is an ambassador — meaning everybody will start moving with a flask, doing drama to become an ambassador,” he said. “No matter the explanation, the perception of Nigerians is that it is entirely wrong.”
He also questioned the consideration of Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson for a similar role, noting that her aggressive behaviour at a Lagos airport could encourage others to act unruly on aircraft.
Bagos called for greater passenger sensitisation and a review of airport security procedures to prevent such incidents.
The Federal Government had on Wednesday announced KWAM 1’s engagement as an airport security protocol ambassador following his controversial conduct at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5, 2025. The announcement drew backlash, especially in the wake of the Comfort Emmanson case, where she was accused of assaulting a flight attendant and confronting security personnel on a Lagos-bound Ibom Air flight.
