The All Progressives Congress has emerged dominant in the chairmanship elections across the Federal Capital Territory, securing five of the six area councils contested.

In Bwari Area Council, APC candidate Joshua Ishaku clinched victory with 18,466 votes, while the party’s Chris Garki also won the chairmanship seat in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

The only win for the opposition came in Gwagwalada Area Council, where Kasim Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party secured the chairmanship position.

Similarly, APC candidates Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, Nuhu Daniel Kwali, and Abdullahi Umar Abubakar were declared winners in Kuje Area Council, Kwali Area Council, and Abaji Area Council respectively.

The results reinforce the APC’s strong foothold in the FCT, with only Gwagwalada falling to the PDP.
