World-renowned boxing star Anthony Joshua paid an emotional tribute to his late friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, during a Mother’s Day gathering with their families.

The event marked a poignant moment for Joshua, who survived a car accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on December 29, 2025, that claimed the lives of his two companions. Joshua, 36, sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized before being discharged on New Year’s Day. The vehicle’s driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has been charged in court with causing death by dangerous driving and other related offences.

At the Mother’s Day celebration, a touching video captured Joshua dancing and sharing light moments with the families of Sina and Latz, while also honoring his late “brothers.”

“I thank God that we can come under one roof and celebrate our mothers, celebrate our brothers, celebrate those that are not with us,” Joshua said, holding back tears. “My heart is for my bros right now.”

He also expressed gratitude to the mothers of his late friends for raising companions he trusted throughout his travels. “This is for my mum and our family but also Sina and Latz, Sina’s mum, Latz’s mum… looking over me, I appreciate it a lot,” Joshua added.
