The younger brother of late Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola has publicly apologised to actress Iyabo Ojo over his earlier criticism of her following his sister’s death.
The apology came during the service of songs held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in honour of the late actress. The moment marked a reconciliation after Allwell’s brother had previously accused Iyabo Ojo, actor Lateef Adedimeji, and other Nollywood A-listers of failing to support his sister while she was alive, only to post tributes after her death.
In response to the accusations at the time, Iyabo Ojo had defended herself, stating that she supported Allwell Ademola extensively during her lifetime.
“I over supported your sister when she was alive. I featured in her movies countless times for free,” Ojo had said.
At the memorial event, Allwell’s brother approached Iyabo Ojo, prostrated, and pleaded for forgiveness.
“Big mummy, please don’t be offended. You can see that I didn’t abuse you in the viral video. Please, I’m sorry,” he said.
Iyabo Ojo immediately embraced him and accepted the apology, saying in Yoruba, “O ti lo,” meaning it’s in the past, adding that she had forgiven him.
The moment drew emotional reactions from attendees, symbolising closure and reconciliation amid the grieving process.
