Nigerian activists Omoyele Sowore and Deji Adeyanju have weighed in on a viral video showing former Edo State governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, massaging his wife’s feet aboard a private jet.
In the video, Oshiomhole’s wife is seated opposite him with one foot on his lap, which he is seen massaging. The clip has sparked mixed reactions online, with some defending his right to private indulgence and others questioning the ostentatious display, especially given his status as a lawmaker.
Adeyanju, in a post on X, criticized the lavish display, writing:
“Comrade wey dey ball! Politics money is sweet. A former textile worker living like Pablo Escobar. No evidence he inherited money from rich parents or that he is a successful businessman or actively doing anything progressively as at today aside politics. Behaving like Wike whose only source of wealth is before harmattan there was cold.”
Sowore also condemned the display of wealth, saying:
“Exactly. When ‘Comrade’ Oshiomhole says food prices have dropped, he’s not speaking from the marketplace, he’s speaking from 30,000 feet. A man who can casually rent a private jet for indulgent personal errands (just so he could massage the foot of an only fans South African female) lives in a different economic universe altogether. How would someone so insulated from daily struggle know the price of garri, rice, or cooking oil? Hunger doesn’t register in first class, and inflation is invisible when your life runs on private jets and a dirty privileged-filled lifestyle.”
The video continues to generate debate across social media, reflecting growing public scrutiny of the lifestyle of political figures in Nigeria.
