Former Super Eagles defender Taiye Taiwo has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille.
The club announced the honor on its official X handle, stating, “Taye Taiwo is in the house tonight as the former Olympien and Super Eagle is inducted into the #OMLegends club.”
Recall that Taiwo joined Marseille from the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) club in January 2005.
The 39-year-old made 271 appearances for Les Phocéens, with 25 goals and 23 assists to his name.
The left-back helped Marseille win the Ligue 1 title, French League Cup, and French Super Cup during his time at the club.
He left Marseille for Serie A giants AC Milan in 2011.
