Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik, a renowned philanthropist and chairman of the Kefiano Global Foundation, has extended his goodwill to over 1,190 widows in Plateau State. Beneficiaries across Shendam, Pankshin, and Kanke Local Government Areas received rice grains as New Year gifts in an effort to alleviate hunger and bring relief to the underprivileged.
This latest outreach follows Chief Kefas’ recent birthday celebration, where he supported over 1,000 orphans, widows, visually impaired individuals, persons with disabilities, and children with special needs at Mees Palace Resort, Jos. During the event, he distributed rice, noodles, sugar, and cash as startup funds to assist them in becoming self-reliant.
The New Year palliatives, distributed on Wednesday, saw 350 widows in Pankshin, 400 in Kanke, and 440 in Shendam receiving rice. Speaking at the distribution points, Chief Kefas stressed that the initiative was purely humanitarian, devoid of any political or religious motivations.
“This is my way of alleviating the prevailing suffering caused by hunger,” he said. “Although I cultivated 130 hectares of rice this year, the yield was not sufficient to meet the demand. I had to purchase additional rice from other farmers to make this possible.”
Chief Kefas also reassured those who could not receive the palliatives, urging them to remain patient as the foundation plans to sustain and expand its outreach efforts.
During a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ngolong Ngas, His Majesty Nde Jika Golit, in Pankshin, Chief Kefas and his team sought royal blessings for their humanitarian activities. The traditional ruler commended his efforts, describing them as “a commendable sense of responsibility” and urging others to emulate his actions.
The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude, offering prayers for Chief Kefas and his foundation. Many described the initiative as a lifeline during challenging times and hoped for continued support for more individuals in need.
Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik remains a beacon of hope for vulnerable communities across Plateau State, consistently making impactful contributions to alleviate poverty and improve lives.
