The Kano State Government has been thrown into mourning following the untimely death of Engr. Ahmad Ishaq Bunkure, the newly appointed Special Adviser on Works to Governor Abba Yusuf.
Bunkure passed away in Egypt just 24 hours after his swearing-in ceremony. The sad news was confirmed by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor’s spokesperson, in a statement issued on January 8, 2025.
Bunkure was amongst the newly appointed aides and commissioners sworn in by Governor Yusuf on Monday, 6th January 2025.
Governor Yusuf, in his condolence message, described the late adviser as a committed professional whose expertise was expected to contribute significantly to the administration’s development agenda.
“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Engr. Bunkure was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt,” the governor said.
