Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, has dismissed reports claiming that he defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a conversation with Channels Television on Sunday, a close aide to El-Rufai debunked the rumor, labeling it the work of mischief makers. The aide emphasized that the former governor would have formally announced such a move if it were true.
Also reacting to the rumour on his verified X handle, El-Rufai asked the public to disregard the rumour and patent lies about his political affiliation.
He also said that he has referred the lead peddlers of the fake news to his lawyers for legal action.
The former Governor wrote, “Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers.”
