Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communications, has dismissed reports claiming he was demoted following a recent re-designation.
Bwala, who was originally appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, had his role shifted to Policy Communications as part of a broader restructuring within the State House media and communications team. The move, which was announced by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, was aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the government’s communication machinery.
Speaking on the development when he appeared as a guest on Monday’s edition of Politics Today on Channels Television, Bwala insisted that the change in designation is not a demotion, adding that he enjoys doing his job.
“I have never been demoted. I have an absolutely good relationship with the president, and I’m happy doing my job,” Bwala stated.
The presidential aide also noted that defending the actions and policies of the Tinubu government is one of the easiest things to do.
He identified clarity, honesty, and thorough research as tools he deploys in carrying out his assignment.
“To defend this government, in my view, is the easiest thing to do because you speak to facts, be honest with Nigerians, and then be ready to counter any negative narrative or agenda-driven narrative.
“So, once these three things are very clear to you and you have done your research, it is very easy,” he said.
