The Dachung Musa Bagos Foundation has disbursed ₦30 million as empowerment grants to over 300 small-scale business owners and cooperative societies, as part of its commitment to supporting SMEs and alleviating poverty.
The pilot scheme, launched on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in a ceremony that attracted women, children, and cooperative groups, aims to provide financial assistance based on thorough needs and resource assessments. Speaking on behalf of the Foundation’s Executive Director, Mrs. Lydia Dachung Musa Bagos, the Project Coordinator, Mr. Alpha Dali, highlighted the purpose of the initiative.
“The disbursement today is part of the Foundation’s microfinance scheme designed to cushion the impact of rising poverty and enhance development. To ensure the funds are used effectively, reputable consultants will provide technical support and monitor the progress of beneficiaries to achieve the desired impact,” Dali stated.
Beneficiaries of the scheme, including representatives of women and youth groups, expressed gratitude to the Foundation. They described the grant as a lifeline for their businesses and pledged to utilize the funds to support their families, communities, and the development of the state.
