All is set for the much-anticipated Waka with De Amazon RoadWaka, scheduled to take place in Jos, Plateau State, on Saturday, 23rd November 2024. The event promises to be an exhilarating fitness experience, bringing together enthusiasts for a 10-kilometer walk aimed at promoting health and wellness.
The Waka-thon will commence at the National Library, proceed to the PRTV Roundabout, and return to Plateau State Polytechnic (Pla Poly). Participants are expected to arrive by 6:00 AM for registration, with the walk officially starting at 6:30 AM sharp.
To ensure a smooth and secure event, the organizers have formed strategic alliances with the Nigeria Police Force (Plateau State Command), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) to guarantee peace and orderliness throughout the walk.
In addition, comprehensive medical support will be provided by the Nigeria Medical Association (Plateau State Chapter), Plateau State Hospital Management Board, Foundation Hospital, Red Cross (Jos South), and other medical personnel. An ambulance will also be available on standby to handle any emergencies.

Participants are advised to ensure they are in good health before joining the walk. “If you are not 100% healthy, please stay back and prioritize your health,” the organizers emphasized, adding that the event advocates for fitness from the perspective of a healthy body.
