A socio-political group, Plateau Patriotic Front, has commended the Plateau State Government over the revival of the Jos Wildlife Park, saying it resonates with the administration’s plans to boost tourism and the general economy of the state.
Speaking against the background of the past negligence of the Park and the tourism sector, the PPF commends the efforts by the Caleb Mutfwang administration to restore the glory of the Park.
The Governor recently approved the award of the contract for the parameter fencing of the 12 Sq KM Park, and work is ongoing.
Commending the move, the group, through its Chairman, Mani Imman, applauded the Governor’s efforts and urged citizens, especially as the festive season is approaching, to patronize the Park.
He said, “The fencing is not the only positive thing that is happening in the Park, the morale of staff has been boosted. The Park covers an area of 12 square kilometers, and the parameter fencing will cover the entire area.
“In addition to that, 20 solar light systems have been installed within the Park. There is a borehole that has been drilled with an overhead tank within this one year. There are pipes laid into the various ponds within the Park so that there will be no more issues with the water supply within the Park.
“Presently, renovation of the structures within the Park is ongoing. There is a complete rehabilitation of the structures within the Park,” the group said as it also observed the claims about the Mutfwang administration’s improvement of the welfare conditions of staff.
